The Village of Norridge, IL Ordinance states that you may put your garbage out after 6:00 PM on the night before your regular garbage pickup day. Anyone who puts their garbage out prior to 6:00 PM is subject to a fine. Garbage pickup starts around 7:00 AM.
Garbage must be placed in 30-gallon covered garbage cans. Green recycling bins are available at the Norridge Village Hall. Each resident will receive one FREE bin. Additional bins are available for $20.00.
Your garbage cans, bags, yard waste, and recycling bin must be either on your parkway or on the curb. Do not put garbage directly on the street. This will avoid any problems during snow removal or heavy rains. During a snow removal service, cans may get knocked over or moved, so it's important to place them further away from the street.
Listed below are the ONLY holidays that garbage will not be picked up. If your regularly scheduled garbage pickup falls during a garbage holiday week, garbage will be picked up one day later for the rest of that week.
This schedule change applies for the following 6 holidays:
- New Year’s Day
- Memorial Day
- Fourth of July
- Labor Day
- Thanksgiving Day
- Christmas
The Village holds two cleanup weeks during the year, one during late spring and one in early fall.
Yard waste pickup runs from April 1st through November 30th of each year. Use only the brown bags or open 30-gallon containers for yard waste.
You may also come into the Village Hall and pick up a ‘YARD WASTE ONLY” sticker. Four feet long branches should be bundled.
